Sliding-glass dog door installation · Englewood and the Denver metro area

Give Your Dog More Freedom Without Cutting Into Your Wall.

I install dog-door inserts that fit into the track of an existing sliding glass door. On the project shown below, it required no permanent changes to the door. I’m Noah Burkeen, owner of Blue Spruce Handyman Services, and I handle each request personally, from the first message to the finished job.

The daily routine

Up from the couch, again, because the dog needs out

A dog door usually means cutting a hole in an exterior wall or a door. If your yard opens off a sliding glass door, there is a simpler option: a panel insert that sits in the door’s track next to the sliding panel, with the dog flap built into it.

On the customer project below, that meant no permanent changes to the sliding glass door, and the insert she chose has weather stripping along its edges. Whether the same approach fits your door is something I confirm with you first, from the door’s measurements and a photo.

How it works

Three steps, and you choose the insert

  1. 1

Tell me about your door and your dog

Send the form below with the kind of sliding door you have, your dog's size, and the timing you're hoping for.

  2. 2

    I confirm fit and options

I reply by the method you chose, ask for the door height and a photo if I need them, research suitable inserts, and send you the options so you can pick.

  3. 3

I install it and show you how it works

Once you've chosen, I pick up the product and materials, complete the installation, and walk you through the finished setup.

Customer feedback

In the customer’s own words

Reliable, on time, and responsive.

I reached out to Noah about several handyman projects at my home. He responded the same day, and we set up an appointment for the next day. Noah arrived on time and was ready to work.

He installed a dog door for my sliding glass door, researched the right option, went to Home Depot for the materials, and sent me photos so I could choose what worked best.

He also installed lighting around my deck and yard. I liked the first section so much that I had him return to complete more of the yard.

Noah also helped replace the soap dispenser in my dishwasher, including researching and purchasing the correct part.

I give Noah a 5-star rating and I'm already referring him to friends.

Before you send the form

What I can and can’t promise from a form

What happens after you send it

  • I read your door details personally.
  • I reply by the contact method you chose to confirm whether an insert is a fit and to talk through the options.
  • If it is a fit, we agree on a time together. Your requested timing is a preference until then.
  • You can correct or cancel the request any time by calling or texting (303) 827-1440.

What I can’t promise yet

  • That every sliding door takes an insert. Very tall doors, unusual tracks, and French-style doors may need a different approach or may not be a fit.
  • A price, a date, or a specific product. Those come from the conversation, once I know your door and your dog.
  • Anything about energy or security performance. I install the insert; I do not rate it.
  • If you rent, please get your landlord's okay before we schedule.
